Sales

We do not offer sale-deposit services, but instead, we propose to purchase your articles. We are interested in buying a variety of items including magazines and fashion books dating from 1900 to present day, such as :

  • Magazines and fashion books, from 1900 to today (Vogue, L’officiel, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Album de la mode du Figaro, jardin des modes, Femina, Numéro, les Modes, … this list is not exhaustive)
  • Accessories and ready-to-wear (premium and luxury): You want to sort out your dressing room and sell some of your pieces without any constraints? We travel primarily in the area of Lyon, France by appointment.

Our initial step is to analyze your needs and the items you own through a first call. Depending on their condition, we will provide you with an initial estimate of the price at which we will buy the pieces. Our services are free of charge, and we pay for the items on the spot via bank transfer. We will also provide an invoice, which is exempt from VAT

Packaging and delivery

Shipping protection

Magazines, books, and advertisements are fragile items, and we take great care to ensure that they are properly protected during their journey to you. To achieve this, we use a pouch and a Kraft envelope with a cardboard backing, which are then placed in a cardboard shipping envelope. This packaging method helps to prevent any bumps or creases that may occur during shipping.”

How does eBay work?

We’ve chosen to host our shop on eBay’s marketplace. Since 1995, eBay has been known as an auction site, but they also offer products at fixed prices like any other e-commerce site. With a presence in 190 countries, eBay provides one of the best services available. You can benefit from their security and confidentiality guarantees in your own language and currency, as they are a multinational company.

Your purchases are protected , and customer service is reachable quickly by telephone, just like us.

Access: You do not need to have an account on eBay to make purchases, you can access it as a visitor.

Group (multiple) purchases: To order multiple items in the shop, simply add the items to your shopping cart. The shipping costs will be adjusted automatically If necessary, you can click on “Ask for total” on your shopping cart page in order to validate your order and wait for the adjustment of the charges. Finally, you can also send us a message with the list of items you are interested in, we will make an announcement especially for you.

Our prices : eBay does not only offer products for auction and our products are sold at fixed prices in “buy now”. You can also make offers on certain products

We respond to all your offers, within the limits of what is reasonable. Our pricing policy is as fair as possible in relation to market prices, our costs and your budget. We do not have sales, but we do have special offers on selected products.

FAQ

Does Modetico also have a physical shop?

No, we do not have a physical shop. Our offices are based in Lyon, France and sales are only made online. We offer hand delivery of your purchases in Lyon. We deliver all over the world, at least wherever the postal services are working.

Why is Modetico only available on eBay?

Customer guarantee, data protection, payment security, presence in 190 countries and existing since 1995: these are some of the reasons that explain our presence on this marketplace. eBay allows us to offer you the best possible service, in your language, with the security and confidentiality guarantees of a multinational.

What are your shipping times and delivery methods?

We ship within a maximum two working days maximum.

  • In metropolitan France:

The shipments are made by Colissimo, followed letter or in collection point Mondial Relay. You can choose your preferred delivery method when validating your order. We offer the most economical and efficient services according to our experience. If you want a delivery method that is not offered, or if you want a guaranteed delivery within 24 hours for example, do not hesitate to write to us we will do our best to adapt to your needs.

  • International

You have the choice between an economic or standard delivery service with tracking via the French Post Office. For some European countries a home delivery service with Hermes (Mondial Relay) is also available. Economy delivery is very reasonably priced, but delivery times can vary from 1 to 4 weeks depending on the country and the period. As this is a non-priority mail service, delivery times are not guaranteed. For example, the average delivery time for countries such as Germany or the United States is one week. If you would like a shipping method that is not offered, or if you would like guaranteed delivery within 24 hours, such as Fedex, please write to us (LINK) and we will do our best to adapt to your needs.

What are the return policies?

Returns are free of charge in Metropolitan France, within 60 days of receipt of your item, in its original packaging.

For international sales, returns are possible within 30 days of receiving your item, in its original packaging. Shipping costs are at the buyer’s expense.

  • Upon receipt of the item, you have the choice between:
  • A full refund
  • An exchange (subject to availability of an equivalent item)
  • A credit note with an additional 10% offered (automatic voucher sent via eBay to be used within 6 months)

Returns, like all sales, are covered by Ebay’s buyer protection. In this context, the return request is made directly online on the page of your purchase.

How is the condition of the products determined ?

The condition is determined as such:

  • New
  • Like new: the item is not new but looks new
  • Very good condition: the item shows slight signs of wear
  • Good condition: the item shows signs of wear, but is not stained/struck/damaged
  • Fair condition: the item is damaged

Details of any signs of wear are in the description of each ad and visible in the photos. However, if you would like more photos or information about an item, please send us a message.

Do you have more than one copies of certain items?

Each item is second hand and therefore unique. You may find some magazines available several times on the shop, in different states of use (e.g. the same issue of a magazine in good condition and in like-new condition)

However, we do have stock on some magazines that are not all available in the shop. If you have a particular request, please send us a message, we will do our best.

  • Limited use of plastic in our packaging, with a target of zero plastic by 2023

  • Eco-friendly inks, paper, office supplies (for example, dynamo scales)
  • Carbon footprint : we do not use vehicles on a daily basis. Located in the city centre, we favour public transport and walking, including for dropping off your packages. The nature of our offer attracts international customers. We take care to select carriers who are committed to “zero emission” strategies, such as our first partner, La Poste.
